Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, the Waukesha County Business Alliance and the Waukesha County Center for Growth have announced the winners for the 2021 Waukesha County Awards. The awards recognize top-performing businesses and nonprofit organizations who have a significant presence in Waukesha County and are making our community a great place to work, play and live.

“These organizations, both businesses and nonprofits, represent what makes Waukesha County such a great place to be,” said Suzanne Kelley, president and CEO of the Waukesha County Business Alliance. “The thing that sets us apart as a community is the way we all—businesses, government, nonprofits and educational institutions—work together to make our community stronger. We are honored to celebrate the contributions of these organizations.”

Large Business of the Year: Inpro
Founded in 1979, Inpro® is a global provider of high-performance, design-forward architectural products for building professionals. Based in Muskego, Wisconsin, Inpro makes and services products with an obsessive commitment to protecting buildings and the well-being of the people who use them. Product categories include: door and wall protection, washrooms, expansion joint systems, patient privacy, elevator protection, architectural signage, and commercial window treatments and window-shade automation systems. Individual employee care and support employees first is a way of life for Inpro. The company is committed to enriching the lives of its employees and their families.


Medium Business of the Year: Lemberg
Lemberg is southeastern Wisconsin’s largest employee-owned electrical contractor offering turnkey services in electrical construction, electrical service, data communications, energy management and custom business signs. Since 1928, Lemberg has built a reputation of reliability and craftsmanship, serving a wide range of industries. Its mission to provide a quality experience is founded on strong core values of safety, accountability, leadership, teamwork, community, and uncompromising customer service. With a design-build approach, the latest technology, and Agile Construction® project management, the team mitigates risk and provide solutions to ensure projects remain safe, efficient, productive, on time and on budget.


Small Business of the Year: Innovative Signs
Innovative Signs was founded in August 2001 by Chad and Stephanie Schultz. The core values at Innovative Signs are integrity, customer service, efficiency and team work. Chad and Stephanie believe in building a strong team of professionals that work well with each other in order to best serve customers. Innovative is unique in the sense that it can offer all services from point of sale, permitting, design, producing/manufacturing to installation. Customers appreciate the quality and attention to detail found in every project. Most importantly, they enjoy the personalized service.  


Large Non Profit of the Year: Carroll University
Carroll University is Wisconsin’s first four-year institution of higher learning. This year Carroll celebrates its 175th anniversary. As an independent university grounded in the liberal arts tradition, Carroll offers over 95 areas of study, multiple graduate programs and a clinical doctorate in physical therapy. The university also offers a personalized education with dedicated professors, combined with wraparound support from Student Success, Academic Advising, Counseling and Accessibility, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the Office of Global Education. The support students receive at Carroll ensures they have a holistic university experience and upholds our ethos of respect, integrity and stewardship. 


Small Non Profit of the Year: GPS Education Partners
GPS Education Partners is a nonprofit that has been advocating and delivering work-based learning (WBL) solutions to revolutionize career readiness in our youth for the past twenty years and counting. The GPS team envisions a world where every student has access and equity to quality work-based learning to discover a pathway to a productive life. GPS serves as an intermediary partner to schools, businesses, and communities to provide scalable, quality WBL solutions that impact educational systems, talent pipeline needs, and unite and lift local economies through the development of technical talent and young leaders.

The 2021 winners will be celebrated at the Alliance’s 103rd Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Brookfield Conference Center. Registration for the event is now open.
