Alliance Hosts WisDOT Secretary Thompson

The Alliance’s Infrastructure Policy Committee hosted Wisconsin Department of Transportation Secretary Craig Thompson this morning for a discussion on infrastructure priorities. Secretary Thompson provided an update on transportation projects and priorities from around the state, including the I-94 East-West project, which has long been a priority of the Alliance. The 94 EW corridor runs for 3.5 miles between 16th and 70th Streets and nearly 21,000 businesses; 310,000 jobs; and 540,000 residents are located within a five-mile radius of the corridor’s center. In addition, Secretary Thompson discussed funding for local road improvements and the potential impact to Wisconsin if a federal infrastructure bill is passed.
