The Alliance is proud to recognize Jeff Hoffman as this year’s Advocate of the Year!
The Waukesha County Advocate of the Year award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated incredible dedication to making Waukesha County a vibrant community. The award was created to honor and remember the late Bart Adams. Bart was a partner at Sikich LLP and chairman of the Alliance’s policy board. He was a consistent voice for business within the Alliance and the broader community. He liked to work behind the scenes and he embodied the characteristics of a dedicated leader.
“The Advocate of the Year Award is named after one of my mentors, the late (and Great) Bart Adams. Bart took me under his wings in 2008 and opened my eyes to the importance of the business community proactively pursuing communication with our elected officials to better position the state of Wisconsin to compete in a global economy,” states Hoffman. “While much has changed since 2008, the principles that Bart taught me remain the same. Be thoughtful, ask good questions, and above all else, be respectful of someone who has a different opinion than you. Public policy wins for the business community do not occur in a vacuum. Projects like the reconstruction of I-94 from 16th Street to 70th Street and adapting the state of Wisconsin’s Business Incentive Tax Credit program require building coalitions and effectively communicating with many different stakeholders. Your voice and your opinion on policy that impacts your business matters and your elected officials DO want to hear from you.”
