Tariff Update from the AllianceTariff Update: Monitoring Impact on Local IndustriesTariff Update from the Alliance

The United States has introduced and implemented a series of new tariffs under President Trump’s “America First” and “reciprocal” trade policy, with additional tariffs under consideration.

In response, several countries have announced or enacted retaliatory measures. Canada and Mexico have already imposed their own tariffs in response to earlier U.S. actions. China has levied a 125% tariff on U.S. imports, while others, like the European Union, have paused retaliation following President Trump’s decision to delay the implementation of “reciprocal” tariffs by 90 days as negotiations continue.

The Waukesha County Business Alliance is closely monitoring these developments and their impact on driver industries, particularly manufacturing and construction. We are communicating with our congressional offices to share what’s happening at the local level to ensure concerns and impact are heard at the federal level. Additionally, we are working with our partners at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC) to stay informed and will continue to provide updates to members.

Below is a chart outlining the current status of U.S. tariffs. Please note that this information is subject to change. If you have any questions or feedback about the impact to your business, please contact Will Neitzel.
